AngularJS Environment Setup

Today lets see how to set up AngularJS environment in your PC for web development.

Download AngularJS library

To download this library go to - Here you can see something like below.

Download AngularJS library
This screen gives us different options -

View on GitHub - You can go to Github and get all the latest scripts

Download AngularJS 1 - This is to download the library locally or use CDN(will be explained shortly). So just click on this button, you will see the below image.

From here you can chose the version you want, Prefer the stable version. Also, you can chose Minified, Uncompressed or Zip file to download.

CDN - Content Delivery Network
The other best option is to chose CDN. The CDN will give you access around the world to regional data centers that in this case, Google host.

The quickest way to get started is to point your html <script> tag to a Google CDN URL. This way, you don't have to download anything or maintain a local copy.

There are two types of Angular script URLs you can point to, one for development and one for production:

angular.js - This is the human-readable, non-minified version, suitable for web development.

angular.min.js - This is the minified version, which we strongly suggest you use in production.

The html will look something like below.

<!doctype html>
<html ng-app>
<title>AngularJS App</title>
<script src=""></script>

As you can see in the above code we have pointed to google CDN in script tag

<script src=""></script>

Alternatively you can also download and have a local copy and point it from there if you wish to have so..

Hope this tutorial helps you to understand the below stuff :

  • Environment setup for angularjs
  • what is CDN (Content Delivery Network) in angularjs
  • Load angularjs from CDN
